By Paul Johnson

Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) – Repairs to a canal crossing will close Idaho 27 south of Burley for up to five days beginning Monday March 17 according to the Idaho Transportation Department. Traffic will be detoured onto local roadways during work to replace the pipe and repair the road.
ITD maintenance forces will close the roadway between 300 and 400 South Roads, about two miles south of Burley at milepost 17.8, to replace a failing culvert. Repair of the culvert is necessary as leaking and erosion has begun to undermine the roadway.
The closure will begin at about 8 a.m. on Monday and extend through 5 p.m. Friday.
During the closure, all southbound traffic will be detoured west to 50 West Road and northbound traffic will be detoured east to 50 East Road. Message boards and detour signs on approaching roadways will alert motorists of the closure. Home and business owners will be allowed to access the area between 300 and 400 South Roads.
