Senior Citizen Rides Bike Coast To Coast To Fight Hunger
Filer, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A 69 year old woman bicycling across the country was in Twin Falls County today.
Patricia Hansen wants to make more people aware of hunger in the US. She says one out of five families are struggling to put food on their tables. Hansen began her trip in Astoria, Oregon on April 1st, and she hopes to reach Yorktown, Virginia on July 7th, her 70th birthday. Cross-country cyclist Patricia Hansen says, "They don't necessarily have to give to my organization. Give to your food banks, or help your neighbor. Do something in your own community." Hansen says her coast to coast bicycle trip is already paid for, so any money raised will go directly to feed people. Her goal is $50,000. For more information, visit emeraldcitylightsbikeride.org .
