Skiers evacuated from Soldier Mountain chair lift
FAIRFIELD, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Opening weekend at Soldier Mountain didn't go as smoothly as planned...
That's because the chair lift experienced a misalignment. Crews evacuated the skiers on the lift and no injuries were reported. The incident happened around one in the afternoon Saturday and by two, everyone was off the lift. General Manager Larry Davenport says the ski patrol did a great job of getting everyone down. He says they're fortunate to have back–up safety features in place. They re–opened the lift this morning. Davenport tells us it's been almost 20 years since something like this has happened.
