Slower Speed Limit On Highway 30 East Of Buhl
Buhl, Idaho (KMVT-TV) If you're driving on US Highway 30 just east of Buhl, you'll need to slow down a little bit.
The speed limit used to be 60 miles an hour until this morning. Idaho Transportation Department workers posted new signs showing the speed limit is now 45 miles an hour on Highway 30. That speed limit zone was extended about half a mile east, just past 1600 East on the north side of the road.
Nathan Jerke, Spokesman for the Idaho Transportation Department, says, "There's three or four business accesses as well as to watch for traffic turning there. It creates some safety issues for people traveling on US 30 east of Buhl."
Jerke says there have been plenty of accidents at the 1600 East Road intersection, which is also part of the reason they dropped the speed limit. He says more than seven thousand vehicles use this section of road every day.
