DIETRICH, ID (KMVT) "It’s terrible to have something like this happen, especially in a town as small as Dietrich," says Donald Heiken, Dietrich mayor.

Police say about 3:00 a.m. on March 9th of this year, four people carrying guns and wearing masks broke into the Dietrich home of David and Colleen Conner, and held the couple at gunpoint.

Family friend Donald Heiken says, "I would hate to think of somebody coming into my house and shoving me on the floor, tying me up and shoving a gun in my face. And it'd be horrifying."

The four people who invaded the Conners' home were identified and charged. In October, Jamie Taylor, 30, was sentenced to ten years in prison. Jeremiah Bennett, 27, was charged with second degree kidnapping, burglary, and robbery. Judge John Butler sentenced Bennett to at least 20 years in prison on the kidnapping and robbery charges, and ten years for the burglary charge.

Bennett could face up to life in prison for robbery. Butler said all of the sentences would run at the same time.

The sentencing for Gabriel Baker, 30, was postponed two weeks until 9:00 a.m. November 15th. The trial for Aaron Donabedian, 22, was originally set for November 15th, but has been postponed two and a half months to January 31, 2012.

Nov. 1, 2011.
