South Central Public Health District To Close Twin Falls Family Planning Clinic

By Paul Johnson

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The South Central Public Health District has announced that the Twin Falls Family planning clinic will close. Family planning clinics will remain open at the Bellevue, Burley, and Jerome SCPHD offices. The last day for the public to receive clinical services will be Friday, July 25. However, SCPHD will continue to refill contraceptive supplies until July 31.

After that date, Twin Falls clinic patients are recommended to do the following to meet their reproductive needs:

• Find another provider
• Have SCPHD transfer records to the healthcare provider of their choice.
• Seek SCPHD Family Planning services or supplies at Bellevue, Burley, or Jerome offices.

“SCPHD has provided family planning service to individuals in our 8 county district for over 30 years,” says Rene LeBlanc, SCPHD District Health Director. “This service has been partially funded by a grant administrated through the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW), from the Office of Population Affairs. This year, IDHW was awarded the grant money for the entire state of Idaho except Twin Falls County. The award for Twin Falls was given to another organization. We are sad, after such a long time, to take family planning out of our list of services to the Twin Falls community. ”
