Southern Idaho Wildfire Update
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The weather is cooling down, but the wildfire activity remains active.
The Halstead Fire, roughly eighteen miles north of Stanley, has scorched 179, 055 acres since July. It's now sixty–two percent contained, but another warm day produced active fire behavior. As a result, it's anticipated that Bear Valley Creek Trail will be closed on the north side of Fir Creek Campground Bridge. The estimated containment date is October 16th. Eighty-six personnel still remain on the fire. The Mustang Complex, north of main Salmon River and west of north fork or the Salmon River, has destroyed over 336, 082 acres since the end of July. It's only twenty percent contained right now, but fire crews are hoping the change in weather will help them get a better handle on it. 551 personnel continue to battle the flames. The estimated containment date is September 30th. The Trinity Ridge Fire activity has slowed significantly. Firefighters have contained all areas of the fire perimeter. 106 personnel continue to battle the flames. It's scorched 146, 832 acres since august. Containment is listed at seventy–five percent.
