Speed limit for trucks to remain at 65 m.p.h.
BOISE, Idaho (KMVT-TV) We recently told you that state lawmakers considered increasing the speed limit for trucks to 75 m.p.h. on the interstate.
But the State Senate decided to hold the bill this week, keeping the speed limit at 65. According to Representative Stephen Hartgen, he felt it was based on difference of opinion. "Some people felt many trucks didn't need that because they are set for governors and can't go more than 65 anyway because of fuel efficiency. And there were also those who felt that 75 would beat up the highway more and beat up the road," says Representative Hartgen, District 23. The 65 m.p.h. speed limit will stay the same for the rest of the year. Comments ( |
