Sports Medicine Symposium Begins Friday
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Summer Institute Sports Medicine Symposium kicks off this Friday at the College of Southern Idaho.
The two day event is geared toward athletic trainers, physical therapists, coaches, educators and students addressing common injuries and dysfunction in athletes. Course work will include paths for pre–professionals and professionals. "We really just trying to give people a broad overview of various injury types, how to prevent injuries, how to prevent problems as people go through both training, as well as competition," said Dr. Steven Kohtz, Family Medicine, St. Luke’s Magic Valley. The symposium will provide practical, hands–on experience. Topics will range from on–the–field injuries, to urgent care assessment in a physician's office and appropriate return–to–play guidelines.
