State Republican Convention Takes Over Twin Falls

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The State Republican Convention is underway in Twin Falls.
 
The county is hosting this year's convention after being selected by the State Central Committee.

On Thursday at the College of Southern Idaho, the Platform Committee began considerations of the state platform. Officials say they'll meet again on Friday.

Thursday is just the beginning of the three day convention.

"This is an opportunity for all of the Republicans throughout the state to come together. We have a National Presidential Convention later in the year. This will kind of begin Idaho's season of preparation so that we can begin the process of running for the general elections in November," says Steve Millington, Twin Falls County Republican Central Committee.

The convention moved to Shoshone Falls for the volunteer reception that's scheduled to wrap up around seven Thursday evening.
