Staycations An Option For Memorial Day Weekends

By KMVT News

Hagerman, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Thousand Springs Resort is nearly booked for Memorial Day weekend. The resort is one of many options for people looking for a staycation rather than a vacation.

"Well we're really close, we're really affordable. If you're camping like I said you get a discount. You pay one price for the full day and you can come and go as many times as you'd like. It's just good family fun," said KJ Coats, the Thousand Springs Resort Manager.

Thousand Springs resort offers fun for all ages.

"Something really cool about here is there is like an area that you can have fun as an adult or as a child. I come here with my friends sometimes and it is a fun place. They have a diving board, the slides, there's the log. There's the camping, camping is always fun no matter what age you are. We have a river to go boating. It's just a great area to be at," said Laramie Turner, a Lifeguard at the Thousand Springs Resort.

In addition to the thousand springs resort, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do in the Hagerman area.

"There is quite a lot. We have the fossil beds up the road, the national fish hatchery, the state fish hatchery, the alligator farms is just right up the road. Of course there are a couple other places to swim here," said KJ Coats.

But if you are planning on heading to thousand springs, you'll want to make sure you book early.

"We still have a few tent sites left open. For any holiday or anytime in the summer time you do want to call earlier and make a reservation," said Coats.

Fun things to do right here in the magic valley.
