Storing Your Car In Climate Controlled Comfort

By Jay Michaels

Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A nearly eight year old business in Sun Valley stores and services cars that belong to owners of second homes in the Wood River Valley. Those cars range from normal everyday cars to high performance expensive automobiles.

The owner of the Sun Valley Auto Club says it's the only climate controlled car storage center in the state of Idaho. He stores more than 100 cars here at the rate of $325 a month. That adds up to $4,000 a year per car.

David Stone, owner of the Sun Valley Auto Club, says, "We focus mostly on second homeowners here. So we currently have over 100 cars that we take care of. We service them, we detail them, we store them, and anything that the people need, we can take care of."

In addition to the Sun Valley Auto Club's four full time mechanics, they also sell vehicles of all kinds, including Shelbys, Porsches, and Lamborghinis. Stone says the crew at their building near Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey puts eight man hours into every detail job.

Stone's father Bob Stone helped start this business. Stone says,"Fantastically, we go from one to the next to the next. Then people realize that we even sell cars here, we take cars on consignment, and like Dave said, we sell cars all over the world."

David Stone says by detailing, servicing, storing, and selling cars here, the Sun Valley Auto Club has managed to stay in business for almost eight years so far. He says you can also tour his car museum and showroom.

David Stone says, "We can get cars restored, we can sell them their dream car, we can get rid of their POS. Anything with a car, we can take care of. It's kind of fun, because there's no other business like this that I've seen anywhere."

Stone says if you have a car, the Sun Valley Auto Club can fix anything that's wrong with it. For more information, call 578-2323, or visit svautoclub.com .
