Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT) - With the recent dry weather, coupled with afternoon storms, it's a sure bet that wildfires will be popping up; such was the case Wednesday.
Four homes were lost along with at least a half dozen outbuildings, in the Highway 16 Fire north of Eagle
Investigators have now confirmed that lightning sparked the blaze.
The fire was contained by ten o'clock Wednesday night after burning almost 4900acres.
Ada County Commissioners declared the area as a 'county disaster;’ about 200 firefighters battled the blaze from both the ground and the air.
Closer to home, the Bureau of Land Management said that two small lightning-caused fires have been contained.
The Willow Fire east of Fairfield burned 138 acres, while the Baja Fire near Kimama totaled 187 acres
