Strategic Planning Focuses on Economic Development

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Twin Falls city leaders continue the strategic planning process.

Today at City Council Chambers the city discussed a variety of issues including economic development.

Some of the objectives moving forward include revitalizing downtown, infrastructure, and expanding opportunities for business and tourism.

"One of the things we need to look at is the type of industries we will target and try to bring into our community. When we bring in somebody as large as Chobani obviously there are infrastructure issues, so we need water and waste water to handle that," said Josh Palmer, City of Twin Falls spokesman.

The city plans to develop a marketing strategy and use tourism as a tool in economic development.
