Super Bowl Benefits Local Businesses

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest house party day of the year and for some, like a holiday in itself. That means a big boost for some local businesses.

"In Twin, we had four stores that got hit pretty hard with party subs and party platter orders," said Julie Emery with Subway.

For the local subway franchise Super Bowl Sunday is one of their bigger sales days of the year.

"The party subs just because they are big and fancy so people can go in and then go to a party and say hey look what I brought," said Julie Emergy.

Super Bowl Sunday is only after Thanksgiving for food consumption.

"It doesn't take long to build those sandwiches, make them pretty and of course it's a healthy alternative for the Super Bowl," said Julie Emery.

Television sales also spiked right before the weekend.

"The weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, business is still just getting better and better. We have our Christmas which is our biggest time of year but the Super Bowl is always a close second," said Steve Quale of Quale’s Electronics.

Big screen TVs are the choice among football fans.

"There's always a bump in business just the week before the Super Bowl. It is when people come in and say my teams in the big game, the Super Bowl. I want to have a new TV and I want to have a party with my friends,” said Steve Quale.
