Jackpot, Nevada ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Superbowl Sunday is the number one betting event in the United States.
With sports-books conveniently located just a little more than an hour away in Nevada.
Many southern Idaho residents are looking to cash in on the big game.
Joey martin for Idaho’s First News took a trip to Jackpot to get a feel for the numbers.
The sports-book inside Cactus Pete’s Resort and Casino is open and ready to take your bets.
And tells you just how easy it is to place a quick bet.
As Superbowl Sunday approaches many residents of the Magic Valley are making their way down to Cactus Pete's to place a bet on the big game.
"We bet on everything from the point spread to the money line... first half, second half bets. There are over 400 different bets you can make here just for the superbowl."
Super 48 features the top two west coast powers in the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos.
And like always, the Superbowl crowns the number one team in the NFL, but that day is also the number one game for placing a bet.
"The Superbowl is ten–fold more popular and more bets will happen in that one week than any other weekend in the NFL."

For some, betting on a sporting event like the Superbowl can be so confusing and overwhelming that they prefer to avoid it all together.
But experts at Cactus Pete's say there is nothing to fear.
"Making a bet here at Cactus Pete's is very easy. All you have to do is come straight to the sports book... we have multiple people that are very educated, can help you make your first time bet or your 100th bet. They're really good at helping you out and guide you in the right direction."
And if you can't get to Nevada to place your bet before Sunday, but plan on watching the game at one of their many casino locations.
