Survival Expo Wraps Up After Big Turnout

Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) This weekend the first Survival Gardening and Disaster Preparedness Expo was held at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds.

More than 500 people attended the two day event.

The expo featuring a variety of topics, including cold weather survival, personal protection, food storage and herbal remedies.

Expo director Bill Knopp explains the reason for the event.

"It's like an insurance policy if you have this information and you have water storage and sanitary conditions and you are prepared for these things it will help you feel at peace of mind," adds Knopp.

50 vendors offered a variety of products, including flashlights, tents, and other survival gear.

In addition, 30 speakers discussed topics relating to the event.
