Sustainability Symposium Over At CSI

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The University of Idaho kicked off their second day of a President's Sustainability Symposium over on the CSI Campus.

The two day event took place simultaneously with North Idaho College up in Coeur d'Alene.

The symposium is designed to get local communities talking face to face about wastewater treatment and solid waste management.

On Tuesday Students from both colleges took part the symposium by discussing careers that make a difference in the field of wastewater management.

On Wednesday members of the community sat down for a good 7 hours to discuss and array of topics.

“Today we began with an overview that set the context for kind of the changing situation for wastewater treatment and solid waste management in Idaho. We had several speakers from academia and also private firms talking about the two subjects. And then we had a series of community success stories. Communities across the whole state that are working on these two critical issues of solid waste management and wastewater treatment.”
Said Priscilla Salant the Director for the U of I Office of Community Partnership.
