Swimmers Giving Back

Tools

By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) One local swim club in the Magic Valley is looking to give back to their community.

And what they came up with will make any literature fan smile.

Over the past few weeks swimmer from the Magic Valley Marlins Swim Club have been collecting books and canned food to help out two very worthwhile charities.

Each swimmer was asked to go home and pick out a copy of their favorite book that they wouldn't mind donating to another child.

To date, Marlins across the valley have gathered over 500 books from about 150 swimmers.

All of the books will then be donate to the Valley House in Twin Falls.

The kids also decided to take down two birds with one stone...

As they were collecting up books the kids were also gathering up canned food items to donate to the Knights of Columbus.

The Knights will then use that food to create food baskets for needy families in the area.
