By Brittany Cooper

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) September traditionally kicks off a number of meetings for the Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee.

The group met early Friday morning to discuss issues that are important to the local business community.

Many of the group are regular attendees, but the meetings are open to all chamber members. And often times, their discussions turn into issues for the legislature.

Shawn Barigar, Twin Falls Chamber President says, "one was the reduction in personal and corporate income taxes, that was an issue was really driven not only by our chamber, but by chambers throughout the state. The second was tax relief for property developers and that came from one of our members Brad Wills brought to our community we did a tremendous amount of labor on this and worked his tail off throughout the session on it. But having that voice of the chamber behind him certainly helped to support that."

The next meeting will be held Friday, September 28th at 7 a.m.

Once the committee develops the priority list, they'll present it to the chamber board in mid–November for approval.

The list will then be shared with legislators prior to the legislative session.
