TFCO Awarded More Than 10 Thousand Dollars

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Twin Falls County was awarded more than 10–thousand dollars by the U.S. Department of Justice.

This is to reimburse some of the costs of incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens who've committed serious crimes throughout the country.

Twin Falls County happened to be one of 890 local entities to receive this money. 3140 applied for these dollars.

"Some people use it for funding staff and because of the unreliability of what you're going to get each year. I choose not to put that back into staff wages, I rather use it for the hard concept things," adds Capt. Doug Hughes, Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office.

Last year Capt. Hughes used the funding for security enhancements at the jail as well as training, but he hasn't decided what its purpose will be this year.
