Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) What makes the Magic Valley so magical?
That was the topic of a talk put on Thursday afternoon in Twin Falls by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association.
It featured a special keynote speaker, Dr. Lowell Catlett.
He's the Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at New Mexico State University.
He says the Magic Valley is a template of how to do things right in the western United States.
Catlett discussed many topics, including housing, the economy and agriculture, three things he says the Magic Valley region is doing right.
However, he believes there is much more.
"It's got a great base and the quality of life is one of the reasons. And the attitude of the people is one of the reasons economic development is growing when other parts of the country do good to even keep existing business... and you guys seem to be attracting more and more all the time," Catlett explains.
The association is designed to improve and strengthen Idaho communities by expanding housing opportunities.
