Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A handful of teachers in the Twin Falls School District were awarded some mini-grants from the district.

This is the second year the Twin Falls School District has sponsored this event.

K through 12 teachers across the district applied for the grant money.

Out of 36 applications, 24 of them actually received a check.

The check amounts range anywhere from 500 dollars to 1-thousand dollars.

In total, the school district handed out checks totaling 15-thousand dollars.

"We're so happy to get this program moving. It gives teachers an opportunity to request funds for programs that are not obviously funded in any other way," explains Linda Watkins, TFSD Education Foundation.

Funds the teachers will receive will go to an array of different things, such as robotics instruments, musical instruments, book sets, cameras, and much more.
