Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Growth in the City of Twin Falls is booming.
With the recent announcement last week, that Clif Bar is coming to town, city officials believe this is a great time to live in Southern Idaho.
Another big business, Clif Bar is moving into the City of Twin Falls.
With that comes more people and city officials are preparing for a big population increase.
"We are really excited about the opportunities; we think there are good days ahead and we need to make sure we are doing it right. We have to make sure the things that make Twin Falls great are not sacrificed in this process,” said Travis Rothweiler, Twin Falls City Manager.
With more people moving to the area, things like roads and infrastructure will need an upgrade.
"We always need to be looking at our entire infrastructure. We want to make sure all of our roadways are going to be safe. We want to make sure people can conveniently get to point A to point B. We want to make sure through public health that water and sewer will be identified and met, the sewer bond will help us move forward," said Rothweiler.
Latest projections show Twin falls at 55,000 people by 2020. The city expects 66-thousnd people by 2030.
"We usually look at all those growth projections that come out by the census. We also look at the department of labor reports extensively not just population but also employment projection to look at each sector to see what we can capitalize on that” said Dan Olmstead, S.I.E.D.O.
Continued growth that city officials are planning for, hoping more businesses and families move into the community.
