Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Close to over 100 years ago, one local photographer spent most of his life capturing the growth of Twin Falls and Southern Idaho and in doing so has left behind an extensive historical pictorial record of what the area looked like before the masses moved in… You know these series of photos as the Bisbee Collection.

If you have lived in Southern Idaho for any extended period of time you should know the name Clarence Bisbee.

Back in early 1900s, Bisbee was hired by the Twin Falls Land and Water Company to capture on camera the developmental growth of Twin Falls County and the surrounding areas.

But one thing you might not have known to much about was his trusty right–hand man... Or would we say trusty right – hand woman.

This Wednesday at the Twin Falls Public Library, local historian Mareda Wright set out to tell the untold story of Bisbee's trusted wife and assistant... Jessie Bisbee.

Outing the Woman’s life in a presentation Wright called, "Life and Art are One: Jessie Bisbee, Her Husband Clarence, and the Historical Photography of the Magic Valley".

“Well we know she was a photographer because many of those photos Clarence is in, he is the main subject in the photo. She was the one who was always with him. So… Jessie, as you said, was his woman behind the man. Like I said, she was very creative and a woman who had many talents in her own right”.

Said local historian, Mareda Wright - from the Twin Falls Public Library.

The entire collection of both Clarence and Jessie Bisbee photos are on digital display over the Twin Falls Public Library inside the Snake River Room archives.

It’s free to the public and can been viewed anytime during normal operating hours at the library.
