Thousands Of Potatoes Distributed

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) A recent fundraiser led to the distribution of thousands of pounds of potatoes.

The event happened Friday morning at Cummins Family Produce who happened to be one of the donors.

Volunteers from Cooper Norman helped to load the boxes of potatoes into the vehicles of partnering agencies.

"Potatoes are very economical, potatoes are very high in nutrition, very high in Vitamin C, very high in Potassium, very high in fiber, things like that. So it just makes good sense that'd be part of a food bank donation," Mark Klompien, adds Idaho Growers Shippers Association.

The 8,000 pounds of potatoes will benefit more than 6,200 meals in the Magic Valley.
