Three Jerome Churches Report Break-In’s
Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Three Jerome Churches have been broken into over the past three months.
Dan Hall Jerome City Police Chief said the latest happened at Life Church 425 East Nez Perce Avenue. It was reported Sunday March 16. The burglary apparently happened Saturday or early Sunday. The window in the front door was broken to gain entry. Two guitars from the stage were taken. There was a lot of glass on the floor according to reports.
On February 28 and March 11, police in Jerome took a Malicious Injury report at the United Methodist Church at 211 South Buchanan. Each time a window was broken.
Then on January 24, a burglary was reported at the Presbyterian Church. Entry was made through a window in the front of the church. In addition Chief Hall said several windows both on the inside and outside of the church were broken and the church sign was shattered. The glass was apparently broken using a cinderblock.
While inside, entry was made to a storage area where musical instruments are stored and two guitars were taken.
Chief Hall said it doesn’t appear the cases are related but couldn’t rule that out. It doesn't appear these are "Hate Crimes" the chief said. Police have no leads in any of the cases and are currently looking for more information. They are asking for the public’s help.
