Three Separate Fires Burning On Nearby Federal Lands
Burley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Fire season has begun on the Minidoka Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest. Julie Thomas with the district says that currently there are three fires. The Black Mine Fire started on July 7, 2012 and is located in the Southeast of the Black Pine Division. The fire was estimated to be 99 acres and was contained on July 9, 2012 and will be controlled on tomorrow. The Sublett Fire was reported on July 7, 2012 and is located near Sublett Reservoir. The fire is estimated to be 12 acres in size and was contained on July 8, 2012 and will be controlled on sometime today. Black Mine II Fire started on today and has grown to 25 acres and is located near the Black Mine Fire. Crews are working on the fire and will have it contained today and controlled tomorrow. Crews will continue to mop up hot spots and patrol the area. All of these fires were caused by lightening.
