Seven People Injured In Three Vehicle Pileup On Highway 93 Near Nevada
UPDATE WEDNESDAY 2:00PM - The St. Luke's Medical Center in Twin Falls say Driver Wesley Jones is listed in critical condition and his passenger Mae Jones remain in fair condition.
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The Idaho State Police have released more details of a three vehicle pileup that happened earlier Tuesday morning.
Police say Timothy Mingo, 29, of Mesa, Arizona was southbound in a 2010 Honda Fit. Meanwhile, Wesley Jones, 75, of Idaho Falls, was northbound in a 2007 Buick LaCrosse. Kristin Koning, 31, of Tumwater, Washington was also southbound in a 2009 Mazda four door.
Mingo, police say, lost control of his vehicle and struck Jones. Koning’s vehicle then struck Mingo’s vehicle. Mingo and his three passengers, Jones, his passenger, and Koning were all transported to St. Luke's in Twin Falls for treatment. All were wearing seatbelts police say. Travel on the road was blocked for about three hours.
UPDATE 12:32 pm: The Idaho State Police say that the road has re-opened. Traffic is flowing in both directions.
UPDATE: 11:05 am: The road remains closed and police are asking that you avoid the area. Photos of the accident have now been posted to the photo gallery of this story.
UPDATE 9:50am: Elko County has been called to the scene to assist.
UPDATE 9:47am: It's currently snowing in the area. Traffic is backed up several miles in both directions as of 9:45 am. Between the traffic and the snow, emergency personnel are finding it difficult to reach the scene. Police are asking that you avoid the area at this time.
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - A three vehicle accident near milepost 7 on Highway 93 has completely blocked both lanes of travel. That according to the Idaho State Police. The accident was reported at 9:17 am this Tuesday morning. So far, two people are reported injured. Authorities from Twin Falls county and the Idaho State Police have responded to the crash seven miles north of Jackpot Nevada.
