Eagle, Idaho (KMVT) - Three homes, and a barn have been destroyed due to a massive grass fire in Eagle Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports from our CBS Affiliate KBOI in Boise; the fire, near Linder and Homer roads, has burned about 2,500 acres so far.
At this point, fire crews now have a line around the blaze, which will help it slow down.
Ada County Commission Chairman Fred Tilman signed a disaster emergency declaration at about 5:30 Wednesday evening, declaring the area affected a "county disaster."
About 200 firefighters are attacking the blaze on the ground and from the air. Earlier Wednesday, the fire forced some fire crew members to leave the immediate area for safer grounds.
Although the official cause of the fire has yet to be determined, witnesses say it was lighting.
