Tire Amnesty Day Set For October 5th

Tools

By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Twice a year the Southern Idaho Solid Waste District holds tire amnesty day.

And this coming October 5th is your chance to rid yourself of your old and used tires.

On the first Saturday in May and October the District gives you opportunity to dispose of your tires at no charge.

Last year, the District disposed of over 365 tons of tires.

And as you begin to gear up for the coming winter months... This is a perfect opportunity to clear away some of that clutter.

"The whole purpose of Tire Amnesty Day is to basically take your tires off of your property and get rid of them for free. We will take up to 4 car or truck tires per customer. If you bring 5 or if you bring a tire with a rim inside of the transfer station we will charge you full price, but we will take up to 4 for free."
Said Josh Bartlome, Executive Director of the Southern Idaho Solid Waste District

Again, Tire Amnesty Day will be on October 5th at all Southern Idaho Solid Waste transfer stations.
