Traffic Backed Up After Two Semis Collide Near Hospital Entrance

UPDATE 12NOON - From the Idaho State Police:

On Monday, February 10, 2014 at approximately 8:41 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle injury crash on Pole Line Road at Parkview Drive in Twin Falls, ID.

Adam R. Thomason, 37 of Craigmont, driving a 1997 International Semi pulling a single trailer was traveling west on Pole Line Road, as he approached Parkview Drive he did not notice the other vehicles were stopped at the traffic light. Thomason in attempting to avoid the collision, locked up the breaks, attempted to swerve into the right lane before colliding with a 2003 Kenworth Semi pulling two trailers, driven by Jefferson R. Davis, 38 of Rupert. Thomason's vehicle pushed the Kenworth and trailers into a 2006 Lexis 330, driven by Brenda S. Evers, 50 of Wendell.

Thomason and Davis were transported by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, Evers was not transported. Seat belts were worn by all.

Pole Line was blocked for approximately two hours.

UPDATE: 11:15AM - The road is now open to traffic. One person involved in the accident was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Southern Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) - At 8:32 am this morning Twin Falls Police were sent to Pole Line Road west and Park View Drive near St. Luke Hospital where two semi trucks collided. Two westbound lanes of traffic are closed at this time. Police ask that you avoid the area. If you need to access the hospital, consider Cheney Drive or Grandview Drive.

There have been a numerous accidents reported this morning because of icy roads and areas of Fog. The Idaho State Police say there have been multiple slide offs on I-84 at Sweetzer Summit. Traffic is moving slowly police say.

Just after 8am, Idaho State Police say two vehicles went off the road near the Perrine Bridge In Jerome County. That accident is in the southbound lane of travel and was reported as non-injury. The road is not blocked as both cars went off the embankment.

At 5:36 am 269 Idaho Power customers lost power when a vehicle sheared a power pole off at 1513 East 3700 North in the Buhl area. Power was lost from 3350 north to 3810 North and 1400 East to 2300 East. Crews replaced the pole and power was restored at 7:20 am. No serious injuries were reported from that accident.

Other accidents in Twin Falls county happened at 7:08 am at 2300 east and 3700 North. A vehicle slid off and hit a power pole. There was no damage done to the pole.

At 7:35 am at milepost 21, Highway 93 another slide off and at 8:29 am, 4300 North and 2300 East a vehicle struck another power pole.

No serious injuries have been reported to Idaho's first News.
