Charges are now amended in the case of a man accused of shooting his girlfriend in a Twin Falls hotel.

Thomas Trevino is now charged with first-degree murder. He was originally facing aggravated battery charges.

Trevino is accused of shooting 24 year old Hagerman resident Jill Gelever at the Comfort Inn and Suites, in Twin Falls on July 5th.

Twin Falls Prosecutor Grant Loebs tells us Gelever succumbed to her injuries Thursday night. According to Mesa County prosecutors, Trevino is being held in a Colorado detention facility.
