Trunk-Or-Treating: A Halloween Tradition
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Halloween celebrations are officially underway here in the Magic Valley.
Witches and super heroes alike were on the loose in Twin Falls Friday night at St. Edward’s Catholic Church.
This time of year is traditionally a time to roam neighborhoods collecting candy, but these youngsters were trunk–or–treating instead.
"It's a great way for kids to come down and enjoy Halloween without having to go door–to–door," said Karen Rasgorshek, Trunk-Or-Treat Organizer.
For Grandmother Patty Skuza it's a safe alternative to trick-or-treating the old fashioned way.
"They just have fun the parking lot is encased, so they don't run wild. And, so it's mainly just to keep them safe," said Skuza.
St. Edward's has been sponsoring the event for about ten years.
"The great thing about it is you know, the kids are safe because there are always parents around to watch. It's also nice that they don't have to be out late on a school night. And, it's just great way for them to meet other kids in their school," said Rasgorshek.
It's good family fun that offers entertainment for kids of all ages.
"We have a couple of haunted houses, which is great. Some of them are actually really scary and some aren't, so that's nice," said Rasgorshek.
