By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The local Twin Falls Animal Shelter is looking for help from the public to help place some loving older cats into great homes.

In the past few months the Twin Falls animal Shelter has seen an almost 25 percent decrease in the number of adult cat adoptions compared to last year.

It's not known 100 percent why they numbers have decreased but the animal shelter isn't taking it laying down.

"What we have found in the last few month, we aren't finding any homes for adults cats. And so we decided... okay Mr. Public or cat lover or people who just want to help out... 20 dollars to adopt an adult cat. They are deserving, loving beings and we wana find them a new place."
Said Debbie Blackwood, Director for the Twin Falls Animal Shelter.

That new 20 dollars per cat fee is an almost 50 percent cheaper then the original cost to adopt a cat.

If you're interested in adopting one of these loveably cats you can stop by the Twin Falls Animal Shelter at 420 Victory Avenue in Twin Falls.

The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 10 till 5:30.

And again on Saturday from 10 to 2.
