Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Interested in owning a bit of Downtown Twin Falls history? Here’s your chance!

Recently crews removed the old parking meters and now the City of Twin Falls has announced the times, dates and places where the historical downtown meters will be auctioned off to the highest bidders. All proceeds will go toward an investment in downtown projects that will be determined by the city council.

The public auctions will be held at the following events:

Saturday, Aug. 18th at 2 p.m. at the Blue Lakes Rotary’s Brewfest at City Park.

Wednesday, Aug. 22nd at 8 p.m. at Twin Falls Tonight at the Main Avenue Fountain in Downtown
Twin Falls.

Thursday, Aug. 23rd at 6:15 p.m. at the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at Locust Grove, which is located on the northwest corner of Falls Avenue East and Locust
Street North.

“The city council has seen a significant amount of interest from people hoping to own a part of downtown history,” said Councilman Shawn Barigar. “I have no doubt that there will be plenty of excitement
as we auction these meters to the public and raise money that we can reinvest in downtown.”

Four types of parking meters will be available at the auctions including 64 single-head units with mechanical function; 61 double-head units with mechanical function; 28 single-head units with LED function; and eight double-head units with LED function.

This is an absolute auction, where each meter will be sold to the last and highest bidder regardless of price. Each auction will be conducted by the auctioneer. At the conclusion of each individual sale to the last and highest bidder, additional meters of the same type may be purchased by anyone in attendance at the auction for the same sales price.

All meters were functioning prior to being removed from downtown and will be sold “as is.” A sample meter of each type will be available at each auction event. Successful bidders and buyers will be directed
to the Parks and Recreation Department building after the auctions to pay for and receive their meters.
