Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Future development, improvement and connection of bike paths in the City of Twin Falls.

It's what City Council members are discussing.

And they're getting a firsthand experience of them.

Gearing up for a bike ride.

It's not how you would expect City Council members to spend their day.

"The Council has been working on strategic planning for the next 20 years for Twin Falls. One of the things on our radar is bike trails and how to make them better,” said Suzanne Hawkins, Twin Falls City Council.

To see how things truly are, they're getting a guided tour by Cycle Therapy.

"Twin Falls is like a lot of cities. There are safe areas to ride, but they are in the outskirts. But in the City, there are tight roads, more traffic, more dangerous,” said Bob Seastrom, Cycle Therapy.

While bike trails can't be put in some areas, others can be developed with bikes in mind.

"As new development continues to grow, we will concentrate on that. We will have roads wider. Some roads you can go back to and we have those mapped out now, of course, funding matters,” said Hawkins.

Funding that many hope will come.

The City Council members said this tour was insightful and helpful to start the planning process for the future.
