Twin Falls Code Enforcement: When Should You Water Your Lawn?

Tools

By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) With temperatures rising outside the City of Twin Falls wants to remind citizens to follow the set watering schedule.

For homes whose addresses end in an odd number, your watering days are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

For homes that end in even numbers, your days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

With absolutely no water on Mondays.

If you are caught watering outside your specific days, the city will issue a citation.

The first offence will be a verbal warning.

Following the warning, the fines are $40 for the second violation, $80 for the third and $120 for the fourth.

Those fines will then automatically be added to the next month’s water bill.

"It's a water conservation code... you know we are in the middle of a drought. We have been actively enforcing the water code... most of them just don't understand the code and once we help them understand it they're happy to comply."
Said Shawn Stanley, Twin Falls City Code Enforcement

Another part of the code that has some confused is… what time of day can you water your lawn?

According to the code, absolutely no watering should take place between the hours of 10AM to 5PM.
