Twin Falls Commissioners Accept Bid For County West Project
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Twin Falls County Commissioners have accepted a bid of more than three million dollars to remodel the County West facility or what used to be the old hospital.
Barry Hayes Construction of Idaho Falls had the lowest bid.
All of the non–judicial services will be located at County West, except for parks and weeds departments.
The county will be utilizing 78,000 square feet of space.
"We think this is a good long–term solution for space. We think the space that's available is good for at least the next twenty years or the next 50 years. That is a seventeen acre site, but there is a lot of square footage still available in the building...The other thing is this is a one–stop shop for anyone who wants to do business with the county," adds Terry Kramer, Twin Falls County Commissioner.
The contractor plans to start work on July 9th and the project is slated to be complete by the end of February.
Commissioner Kramer says the departments will phase into the new location. Probation and Parole already occupies part of the building.
