Twin Falls County Fair Brings in Big Numbers
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV )
Each year the Twin Falls County Fair brings tens of thousands of people to the Magic Valley, and with that comes big money.
Each year the fair draws 80 to 90 thousand people looking to play games, eat food, or simply take in the sights and sounds.
They come from both near and far.
Fair manager John Pitz, explains a good percentage of people come from out of state, saying, “on the weekdays about 36 percent from out of state and on the weekends 40, 46 percent so it was a good chunk.”
For many fair-goers the place where they are willing to splurge and spend the most money is of course on the food.
Pitz explains, "Our food line grosses about half a million a year and the carnival grosses about 350–thousand a year.”
As much money as the fair grosses, money is well spent making sure it offers as much fun as possible.
Pitz adds, “we spend about 700–750 thousand putting on the rodeo each year.”
