Twin Falls Culverts Almost Finished
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A month ago we told you about the city of Twin Falls replacing some old water drain culverts.
The underground channels carry runoff water under sidewalks and alleys into local irrigation canals. Three culverts have been replaced with cement boxes. City workers will soon be testing the cement. That's to make sure it's strong enough before reopening the streets and alleys that were closed.
Josh Palmer, spokesman for the City of Twin Falls, says, "All we're really asking right now is that people be patient until we can open those up again. They may look like they're safe to cross. But until we do a final test on it, it's something we rather encourage people not to do."
City workers will reopen the alley and intersection near Filer Avenue West and Bracken Street North in about two weeks. Another culvert was replaced on Addison Avenue between Harrison and Tyler Streets.
