Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) On Tuesday, the Twin Falls Economic Development Ready Team held their first meeting as newly reformed committee.

As part of the City of Twin Falls’ new guidelines for government transparency.

This newly reformed committee is dedicated to bringing in new business and improving the economic base of the city.

The idea behind this newly revamped committee can be summed up as simple as this.

Making sure the right hand knows what the left hand is doing.

“Bringing all of the experts around the same table to ensure that we have the opportunity to be successful in economic development.”
Said Travis Rothweiler, Twin Falls City Administrator.

Chobani was a huge win for the city of Twin Falls.

But it wasn’t just the city that made it happen.

Numerous groups from around Twin Falls and southern Idaho worked to make the Chobani dream a reality.

Now while that’s all said and good. There was still a minor problem.

“After the Chobani process we went through and we created the committee because we recognized that there were lots of partners working together out there but we weren’t necessarily working in harmony.”
Said Rothweiler.

Working in harmony is exactly with the Twin Falls Economic Development Ready Team is all about.

The team is made up of representatives from every aspect of Twin Falls life.

“Representatives of the City council, representatives from the Urban Renewal agency… were going to invite the county, representatives from southern Idaho tourism, the college, the Chamber.”
Said Rothweiler.

Shawn Bariger is wearing two hats on the Economic Development Ready Team.

As the President of the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce and also a Twin Falls City Councilmen.

He knows just how important cooperation like this is.

“It’s driven somewhat by the city but it really requires those partnerships of organizations like the Chamber of Commerce and business Plus… those entities that really have a responsibility to serve their members, serve the business community and to grow the economy. That aligns with the mission of t4he city as well… so I think bringing those entities together really gives us the chance to be successful in the future.”
Said Shawn Barigar.

Working together to create a bright business future for Twin Falls.

The economic Development Ready team will meet on the first Monday of every month, inside the Twin Falls City council chambers.

The meetings will begin at 3:30 and are open to the public.
