Twin Falls Fire Department Out to 'Fill the Boot'
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Twin Falls fire fighters were out on the street asking for donations to ‘Fill the Boot’ today.
They were located at the intersection of Addison Avenue East and Locust Street. ‘Fill the Boot’ is an annual fundraiser held nationwide by fire departments to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The fundraiser was started over 60 years ago in Chicago, but it has grown to benefit local communities. Twin Falls Fire Fighter, Jesse Bowman says, "Now it's been a tradition here in Twin for about 12 years, so we try to get out every year and fill the boot for muscular dystrophy. "Most of the money we raise stays here locally so we try to help out the kids that are fighting the disease and the adults fighting the disease locally." The Twin Falls Fire Department has raised about $97,000 dollars during ‘Fill the Boot’ events so far. They hope to raise $3000, so they could say they've raised $100,000 for MDA. Comments ( |
