Twin Falls Native Running For State Treasurer

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) One Twin Falls native is running for State Treasurer.

Democratic nominee Deborah Silver will take on Republican incumbent Ron Crane in the November fourth election.

Silver is currently working as a certified public accountant in Twin Falls. She has spent 30 years in that position.

Silver also worked at the College of Southern Idaho for five years as an accounting instructor.

The Democrat nominee is a graduate of Jerome High School.

Silver defeated W. Lane Startin in the Democratic primary.

“We have to be accountable and transparent in our business, and I think the taxpayers of Idaho deserve the same. They would vote for me because I am a professional; this is my business," Silver says.

Legislative auditors reported Crane's office made inappropriate transfers costing the state more than ten million dollars.
