Twin Falls Tonight, Boosting Downtown Business

By Andrew Reed

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Twin Falls Tonight Summer Concert Series is officially underway.

The purpose is to bring the community to Main Avenue to explore the different shops and, what downtown has to offer.

Despite the weather, many people came out to enjoy the music and business owners had a chance to display their products.

Dancing, eating, and just enjoying the music that's what Twin Falls Tonight is all about.

"People just come downtown every Wednesday it's a great venue to get to in the summer. We have a lot of new bands we haven't in the past, we try to mix it up every year” said Tony Prater, Organizer.

With people cruising Main Avenue, Gary Canary moved his cupcake business pieces of heaven from inside to outside.

"With everybody being outside listening to the music, it's a lot easier to have our product outside. It's easier for it to be showcased better while it sells” Gary Canary, Owner of Pieces of Heaven.

Organizers believe with more stores moving into downtown the concert series improves the economy.

"It brings a lot of people down, the economy everyday is boosted by this event. People come down here and see what's here and come back and shop” said Prater.

For Canary the more foot traffic the better.

"With the community coming down for the concert, you get a chance to see them, talk to them, and a lot of people are starting to realize more and more here” said Canary.

A time to enjoy the summer sun, while exploring downtown.

Twin falls tonight is every Wednesday beginning at 6pm-9pm,the series will wrap up at the end of August.
