Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency To Replace Pipes

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency's new budget year is now under way.

The URA is doing what it can to help create jobs and revitalize downtown Twin Falls. Most of that effort translates into improving sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, along with new parking and street paving.

The Glanbia project is uncovering some old pipes that need to be replaced.

Melinda Anderson, Executive Director of the Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency, says, “The water and sewer lines are very old, most of them undersized and starting to disintegrate because of their age.”

Anderson says this year's URA budget is just over $12 million, but roughly nine million of those dollars are the bonds for the Chobani yogurt plant. She says last year's budget was only $6 million, in contrast to this year's figure.
