U Of I Organic Research Field Day In Kimberly
Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Tuesday morning, farmers and agricultural students from around the area gathered at the University of Idaho Research Extension Center in Kimberly for a field day on the topic of organic farming.
From nine to noon, the day featured all of the organic farming research projects conducted by University of Idaho Researchers over the past year. A few of the projects talked about included the organic production of potatoes, dry beans, forages and cover crops. Those who took part in the field day were taken from field to field and were introduced to the projects with hands on presentations. The field tour also reviewed research on cover crop variety trails for high desert farms, on–farm composting, nutrient analysis of crops and biological control of the potato virus "Y". Comments ( |
