Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Sawtooth National Forest officials held an “Introduction to Wildland Fire” workshop Saturday.

The classes are for anyone interested in working as a wildland fire fighter during the summer.

Some topics discussed were fire behavior, incident command systems and leadership.

Participants were also introduced to the application process which is growing in popularity.

It's a competitive arena with the job market the way it is. We've seen a huge increase in the applicant pool so this is just a means to help folks be marketable in that process to the community,” said Heath Cota, U.S. Forest Service.

Another workshop will be held in Hailey on January 26th.

It will begin at 9 a.m. at the community campus.
