Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The United Way of South–central Idaho held their annual business appreciation luncheon Tuesday afternoon and had a few checks to give out.

In total the United Way gave out over $80,000 in grant money to an array of agencies and organizations from across the valley.

Over the past few weeks an 11 member panel of community members spent their time trying to decide where that money should go.

In the end it was decided that the money was to go to organizations and programs that have a direct impact on the lives of thousands of Southern Idaho residents.

"The way the funds are generated primarily are threw companies that do employee giving campaigns, that's really the life–blood of the United Way. We appreciate the companies allowing their employees to deducts a dollar... 2 dollars... 5 dollars from their pay checks each week, then they go a long way to providing the services that are needed in the community." Siad executive Director of the United Way of south-central Idaho, Bill Knopp.

In total 23 agencies and 8 senior centers in the Magic Valley received checks.

If you or your business would like to get involved with the United Way you can contact Bill Knopp at 733–4922.
