Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) Three local businesses donated money to the United Way of South Central Idaho today.

Cactus Petes employees gave more than $8,000 through their "Workplace Giving Campaign." The Festival of Giving at Southern Idaho Landscape Center also raised a substantial chunk of change for local organizations. And Snake River Tree Services' Christmas tree grinding project also contributed to the overall total.

Bill Knopp, Executive Director of United Way of South Central Idaho, says, "The Festival of Giving was sponsored by the Southern Idaho Landscape Center. Snake River Tree Service also contributed, and total we did about $10,000 from these organizations."

Knopp says this year United Way has received $300,000 in requests from local non-profits. He says the Festival of Giving collected a total of $50,000 to benefit 30 Magic Valley organizations, including United Way.
